Hunting Bow

Hunting Bow

The Hunting Bow is a primitive ranged weapon commonly used during the early stages of Rust. It fires arrows instead of bullets, making it a quiet and resource-efficient option for both hunting and early PvP encounters.

Unlike firearms, the Hunting Bow uses projectile-based arrows that follow a curved trajectory. Arrows travel slower than bullets and are affected by gravity, requiring players to compensate for arrow drop and travel time when aiming. Accuracy with the bow depends largely on positioning, distance awareness, and player skill.

Because arrows can be fired vertically and fall back down near the point of origin, the Hunting Bow allows for unconventional uses and experimental gameplay. While this behavior is mostly situational, it highlights the unique physics-based nature of the weapon compared to hitscan firearms.

Although it is quickly outclassed by guns as progression advances, the Hunting Bow remains a reliable choice during early wipe due to its low cost, stealth capabilities, and independence from gunpowder or metal fragments.
