Double Barrel Shotgun

Double Barrel Shotgun

The Double Barrel Shotgun is a close-range firearm in Rust capable of firing two consecutive shots before requiring a reload. This makes it more flexible and dangerous than single-shot shotguns during fast-paced encounters.

Each shot delivers high burst damage at very short range, similar to other shotguns, but the ability to fire twice in quick succession significantly increases its damage potential in close-quarters combat. This allows players to correct missed shots or eliminate opponents more reliably during ambushes and indoor fights.

The weapon has a wide pellet spread, which limits its effectiveness at range and requires players to engage at very close distances for consistent results. Because of this, positioning and timing are crucial when using the Double Barrel Shotgun effectively.

While it supports all shotgun ammunition types, its role remains focused on early-game PvP and confined environments. Once higher-tier automatic weapons become available, the Double Barrel Shotgun is typically replaced, but it remains a strong option for close-range engagements early in progression.
